Shoe Size Chart in Inches: US Women's, Men's and UK Sizes
Foot length in inches and cm set against US women's, US men's and UK shoe sizes, up to women's 17 and men's 18, and the rows where brand charts disagree.

You have an honest number off the ruler, say 11 inches, and the charts you find either stop well short of your size or print US and EU sizes with no length at all. Guessing from the size you already own means the pair can arrive a half size out in either direction, with no way of telling which until you put it on. Below are foot lengths in inches and centimetres set against US women’s, US men’s and UK sizes, taken from named brand charts and running up to women’s 17 and men’s 18, with the rows where those brands disagree marked rather than smoothed over.
If you have not measured yet, the paper method is in how to measure foot size at home. Use your longer foot.
The quick answer: women’s sizes
Find your foot length in the first column. The rows are from Nike’s women’s footwear chart, which prints a foot length in inches beside each US women’s size from 3.5 to 17; the centimetre column is our conversion of Nike’s inches.
| Foot length | cm | US women’s | US men’s | UK |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 in | 22.9 | 6 | 4.5 | 3.5 |
| 9 5/16 in | 23.7 | 7 | 5.5 | 4.5 |
| 9 11/16 in | 24.6 | 8 | 6.5 | 5.5 |
| 10 in | 25.4 | 9 | 7.5 | 6.5 |
| 10 3/16 in | 25.9 | 9.5 | 8 | 7 |
| 10 5/16 in | 26.2 | 10 | 8.5 | 7.5 |
| 10 1/2 in | 26.7 | 10.5 | 9 | 8 |

| 11 5/16 in | 28.7 | 13 | 11.5 | 10.5 |
| 11 1/2 in | 29.2 | 13.5 | 12 | 11 |
| 11 11/16 in | 29.7 | 14 | 12.5 | 11.5 |
| 12 in | 30.5 | 15 | 13.5 | 12.5 |

| 12 11/16 in | 32.2 | 17 | 15.5 | 14.5 |
Nike prints every half size; this table skips some below a 9.5 and above a 14 to stay short. Neighbouring half sizes on the chart are 1/8 or 3/16 inch apart. If your foot falls between two rows, the chart’s own instruction is: “If the measurement is between sizes, we recommend sizing up.” Past a women’s 17 the chart keeps listing US, UK and EU sizes up to a women’s 22.5, but the foot length cells are empty.
Men’s sizes, including 13 to 16
These rows are from Nike’s men’s footwear chart, which prints a foot length for every half size from US men’s 3.5 to 22.
| Foot length | cm | US men’s | US women’s | UK |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 11/16 in | 24.6 | 7 | 8.5 | 6 |
| 10 in | 25.4 | 8 | 9.5 | 7 |
| 10 5/16 in | 26.2 | 9 | 10.5 | 8 |

| 11 13/16 in | 30.0 | 13.5 | 15 | 12.5 |
| 12 in | 30.5 | 14 | 15.5 | 13 |
| 12 3/16 in | 31.0 | 14.5 | 16 | 13.5 |
| 12 5/16 in | 31.3 | 15 | 16.5 | 14 |
| 12 1/2 in | 31.8 | 15.5 | 17 | 14.5 |
| 12 11/16 in | 32.2 | 16 | 17.5 | 15 |
| 13 in | 33.0 | 17 | 18.5 | 16 |
| 13 5/16 in | 33.8 | 18 | 19.5 | 17 |
On both Nike charts, a US women’s size sits 1.5 above the US men’s size in the same row. That column is the one to use if the women’s shelf stops before your size and you are shopping men’s shoes instead: a women’s 14.5 is listed as a men’s 13.

Where the charts disagree
The two Nike charts do not print the same foot length for the same size. A US women’s 11 on the women’s chart is 10 11/16 inches; on the men’s chart, where it sits beside a men’s 9.5, it is 10 1/2 inches. Across the 25 half sizes both charts give a length for (women’s 5 to 17), the women’s chart is 1/8 or 3/16 inch longer in every one of them. This page does not average them; our reading is to use the chart for the department whose shoe you are buying.
A third chart with inches, Orthofeet’s size conversion chart, prints an Inches row that sits within a fiftieth of an inch of the Nike chart for the same department in every row it prints (women’s 5 to 12, men’s 7 to 15). Its Centimeters row does not match its Inches row (10.7 inches is 27.2 cm by our arithmetic, but the row prints 28.2 at that size), so only its inches appear here.
| Size | Nike women’s chart | Nike men’s chart | Orthofeet |
|---|---|---|---|
| US women’s 11 | 10 11/16 in | 10 1/2 in | 10.7 in |
| US women’s 12 | 11 in | 10 13/16 in | 11 in |
| US women’s 13 | 11 5/16 in | 11 3/16 in | Not on chart (women’s stops at 12) |
| US men’s 13 | 11 13/16 in | 11 11/16 in | 11.7 in |
| US men’s 14 | 12 3/16 in | 12 in | 12 in |
| US men’s 15 | 12 1/2 in | 12 5/16 in | 12.3 in |
| US men’s 16 | No length printed | 12 11/16 in | Not on chart (men’s stops at 15) |
US shoe size to UK
The UK column is where these brands’ charts part ways. Here are the big-end rows from three brands’ charts: Nike (its women’s and men’s charts give the same UK size in these rows), Skechers and Kuru.
| US size | Nike | Skechers | Kuru |
|---|---|---|---|
| Women’s 11 | UK 8.5 | UK 8 | UK 8.5 |
| Women’s 12 | UK 9.5 | UK 9 | UK 9.5 |
| Women’s 13 | UK 10.5 | UK 10 | UK 10.5 |
| Men’s 13 | UK 12 | UK 12 | UK 12 |
| Men’s 14 | UK 13 | UK 13 | UK 13 |
| Men’s 15 | UK 14 | UK 14 | Not on chart |
| Men’s 16 | UK 15 | UK 15 | Not on chart |
Put as an offset: in these rows Nike and Kuru take 2.5 off a US women’s size and Skechers takes 3. For men’s sizes Nike, Skechers and Kuru take 1 off.
UK 7 shoe size to US
| Brand chart | US women’s | US men’s |
|---|---|---|
| Nike women’s and men’s charts | 9.5 | 8 |
| Kuru | 9.5 | 8 |
| Skechers | 10 | 8 |
So a UK 7 is a US women’s 9.5 or 10 depending on whose shoe it is. If you know your UK size from one brand, convert through foot length rather than through a generic table: find the brand’s row for your UK size, note the inches if it prints them, and look up that length on the other brand’s chart.
How far each chart goes
- Nike: the women’s chart lists sizes to a US women’s 22.5, with foot lengths printed to 17; the men’s chart lists sizes and lengths to a US men’s 22.
- Skechers: the women’s chart runs from 5 to 13 and has no 11.5 or 12.5 row; the men’s chart runs from 6.5 to 16, in whole sizes only from 14 up (14, 15, 16).
- Kuru: the chart runs to a US women’s 14.5 and a US men’s 14.
- Orthofeet: the women’s chart runs from 5 to 12, and the men’s from 7 to 15, in whole sizes only above 12 (13, 14, 15).
A row on a size chart is not a shoe in stock in that size. Check the size selector on the listing itself before you plan around a chart.
Width is a separate measurement
The number on the chart only settles length. Width is a second measurement, across the ball of the foot, and brands label it differently: Orthofeet’s width chart runs A, B, D, 2E and 4E for women and B, D, 2E, 4E and 6E for men, Kuru’s runs B, D and 2E for women and D, 2E and 4E for men, and Skechers’ size chart says its “Women’s Wide Fit is equivalent to Women’s W or D width.” Nike states its wide in girth rather than a letter: “Wide shoes have approximately 1/4” (6.35 mm) more girth in the toe box than regular width shoes.”
If the front of your shoes pinches at the right length, measure across the ball of the foot and start with a wide last; there are named wide and extra wide options in wide womens walking shoes.

Before you order
- Do not read the centimetres off the box. Nike’s chart warns: “Please note the CM size displayed on shoe boxes and labels is different than Foot Length (cm).” A US women’s 8 is a 9 11/16-inch (24.6 cm) foot on that chart, and its CM / JP row for the same size says 25.
- Use the chart of the brand you are buying, not this page’s rows, when the two differ. Skechers adds a caution of its own: “Skechers Performance running and walking footwear sizes may vary”.
- Keep shoe and clothing conversions apart. UK clothing labels convert on their own chart, in uk to us size conversion.
- Read the returns page before you buy and try the pair indoors first.
Where these numbers come from
Foot lengths, US and UK sizes and quoted lines are copied from Nike’s women’s and men’s footwear charts, the Skechers and Kuru size charts, and the inches and width rows of Orthofeet’s chart, read on 28 September 2026. The centimetre columns, the offsets and the gaps between the two Nike charts are our arithmetic from those tables.
Frequently asked questions
What US shoe size is an 11-inch foot?
On Nike's women's chart, an 11-inch foot is a US women's 12 and a UK 9.5. On Nike's men's chart, 11 inches is a US men's 11, which that chart lists beside a US women's 12.5 and a UK 10. Use the chart for the department you are buying from, and if you fall between two rows, Nike's instruction is to size up.
What is a UK 7 in US shoe sizes?
It depends on the brand. Nike's women's and men's charts and Kuru's chart put a UK 7 at a US women's 9.5 or a US men's 8. Skechers' women's chart puts it at a US women's 10.
How many inches is a men's shoe size 13 to 16?
On Nike's men's chart, a US men's 13 is an 11 11/16-inch foot, 14 is 12 inches, 15 is 12 5/16 inches and 16 is 12 11/16 inches. Orthofeet's inches row prints 11.7, 12 and 12.3 for its men's 13, 14 and 15, and its men's chart stops at 15.
How do I convert a US shoe size to UK?
Read it off the brand's own chart, because the offset differs. On Nike's charts in the sizes covered here, the UK size is the US women's size minus 2.5 or the US men's size minus 1. Skechers' women's chart subtracts 3, Kuru's subtracts 2.5 for women and 1 for men.
