Kiyonna Enchanted Garden Long Sleeve Wedding Gown
The pick for full-length sleeves up to 5X (30-32), the largest chart size among the six picks, which Amour and Bella share. It has a mesh bodice with a surplice neckline and shirring, sheer mesh lantern sleeves, a cowl detail at the back and a full-length skirt with embroidered 3D flowers, which the page says is fully lined. The colour is Ivory Blossoms. Its top size, 5X (30-32), sits on Kiyonna’s size chart at a 61 to 66 inch bust, 55.5 to 60.5 inch waist and 66.5 to 71.5 inch hips.
Drawbacks: Dry clean only, and the page says do not steam. The one length printed is for a 1X, so ask for your size's length before you plan the hem.
Kiyonna Amour Lace Wedding Gown
The pick if you want stretch and no zipper. It is a scalloped stretch lace gown with a surplice neckline, ruched waistband, trumpet skirt and three-quarter sleeves, in a pull-over design. At a 2X it measures about 61½ inches from the high point of the shoulder to the hem, with a waistband of about 39 inches around, relaxed, and the page says it can be easily hemmed. Answering a reader’s question, Kiyonna says “The model wearing this dress is wearing a size 0X and is about 5’10.” It comes in Ivory, or ivory lace over a nude lining.
Drawbacks: The sleeves are unlined (fully lined except sleeves), dry clean only, and the gown arrives with a red Sharktag; once it is removed, Kiyonna will not take the gown back.
Kiyonna Bella Lace Dress
The pick for a short, simple wedding dress. Kiyonna describes scalloped lace “designed with stretch” over a short A-line skirt; at a 2X it is about 45 inches from the high point of the shoulder to the hem, with sleeves about 15½ inches long and a waistband of about 40 inches around, relaxed. It comes in Ivory or Nude, in the same 0X (10-12) to 5X (30-32) run as the two gowns above.
Drawbacks: It is a short dress, not a gown. Dry clean only, do not steam, and the same Sharktag rule applies.
Kennedy Blue Dublin
The pick if you want sleeves for the ceremony and bare arms later. Dublin is a tulle A-line with scattered lace appliqué, a V neckline, a V back and detachable bishop sleeves, and the page says the sleeves let you “create multiple looks throughout your special day”. The colour is Ivory/Prosecco. The selector lists sizes 0 to 28, but Kennedy Blue’s size chart page carries two versions of its table: one version ends at 24 (57 inch bust, 48.5 inch waist, 60.5 inch hips), the other adds a 26 (61, 52.5 and 64.5) marked “Available in select styles”. Neither has a 28.
Drawbacks: The size chart has no row for 28 (see above), and Kennedy Blue says its manufacturer does not offer custom sizing. No fabric percentages are printed.
Kennedy Blue Cleo
The pick for lace long sleeves with a high neck. Cleo pairs an illusion lace bodice and lace long sleeves with a chiffon skirt, chiffon belt, low back and covered buttons; the page says the skirt is fully lined, so you will not need a slip, and that the sewn-in bra cups mean no bra is needed. Its 0 to 24 run matches the chart’s rows, and at 24 that is a 57 inch bust, 48.5 inch waist and 60.5 inch hips. The colour is Ivory.
Drawbacks: The size run stops at 24, two sizes short of Dublin's 28. No fabric percentages are printed.
Ever-Pretty Plus Size Lace Long Sleeves Mermaid Wedding Dress
The pick on a smaller budget. Ever-Pretty sells it as THE ICON’S BRIDE, a floor-length mermaid with lace long sleeves finished in an eyelash edge and a chiffon skirt. The size chart prints two tables. For the 26, the body chart reads a 56 inch bust, 51 inch waist and 59.5 inch hips, and the actual dress measurements read a 56.6 inch bust, 51.4 inch waist, 62.9 inches from the high point of the shoulder to the hem and a 23.9 inch sleeve. That is about half an inch over the body chart at bust and waist (our arithmetic).
Drawbacks: A close-fitting mermaid cut in a low-stretch fabric, and the run stops at 26. No fabric percentages are printed, and care is listed as dry clean or hand wash, not machine wash.

Letter sizes, numbers and custom sizing
Bridal labels size in different ways, so the label alone tells you little. Kiyonna pairs each letter with a numeric range, from 0X (10-12) to 5X (30-32), and its size chart says “Our plus sizes are developed on plus-size fit models — never graded up from a straight-size sample.” The Kennedy Blue and Ever-Pretty picks use numbers, each on its brand’s own chart, and the same number differs: a 24 is a 57 inch bust at Kennedy Blue and a 53 inch bust on Ever-Pretty’s body chart.
Grace Loves Lace, which is not among the picks, shows how far a letter can mislead: its standard sizes run XS to 3XL, and 3XL is a US 16. It also sells customised gowns (+$500 on its Baya gown) and says of them that they are “not made to exact measurements, but they are made to your personal size ranges in each area of the body.” Dublin’s page, by contrast, says “our manufacturer does not offer custom sizing.”
How to choose
- Measure first, then find the row. Take your bust, waist and hips as in how to measure your bust, then find the first row on each chart that clears all three. Kennedy Blue’s rule is “If you fall in between sizes, order based on your largest measurement.”
- Check the size exists for that gown. Over 61 inches at the bust, Kiyonna’s 5X (to 66), sold on all three Kiyonna picks, is the only size on the six picks’ charts that reaches you. Between 57 and 61 inches, Kennedy Blue’s 26 row covers it, but only on styles that list a 26, such as Dublin.
- Pick the sleeve for the day. Detachable sleeves (Dublin) give you covered arms for the vows and bare arms later; Amour’s ¾ sleeves and Bella’s sleeves both measure about 15½ inches at a 2X; Enchanted Garden, Cleo and Ever-Pretty are the full-length options.
- Decide how much structure you want. Cleo and Dublin have bra cups built in; Amour is a pull-over stretch lace with no zipper. How boning and cups hold a bodice is laid out in plus size ball gowns.
Before you order
- Plan for alterations. Kennedy Blue’s chart page says “Since body types vary greatly, it’s rare to find an exact fit. So, alterations are recommended!”, and Dublin’s page says it is made to order and that the manufacturer does not offer custom sizing.
- Leave the tags on until the dress fits. Kiyonna’s Amour and Bella arrive with a red Sharktag, and once it is removed the dress cannot be returned. Read each brand’s returns page before you pay.
- Read the length for your size. Kiyonna’s three pages print a length for one size each (1X or 2X), and Ever-Pretty for each size it sells; your hem will move with your size and your shoes.
