Heavy Duty Hammock With Stand: 5 Picks Rated 450 lb or More

Five hammock-and-stand setups rated 450 lb or more, why the stand figure counts as much as the hammock one, plus bed sizes, frame footprints and prices.

Cover card reading “Heavy Duty Hammock With Stand: 5 Picks Rated 450 lb or More” over a white rope hammock hung on a curved dark stand on a garden lawn

You sit down on the side of a hammock on a stand, the frame gives a little, and you start wondering which number on the box was the one that counted. Buying the hammock with the biggest figure does not settle it, because the stand has its own: on one Mayan hammock set, the hammock alone is about 441 lb for the Double and 617 lb for the Family, yet “the stand limits either complete set to 400 lbs.” So the five setups below are the ones where the figure printed for the whole set, or for both parts when you buy them separately, is 450 lb or more, with the bed size, the floor space the frame needs and who each one suits.

The short answer

Pick Best for Price (reference) Why
Sunnydaze Universal Stand + Soft-Spun Rope Hammock Users over 450 lb, once Sunnydaze confirms the fit $298 for both (our arithmetic) 550 lb stand, 600 lb hammock
Sunnydaze Brazilian 2-Person Hammock with Universal Stand A wrap-around hammock, the widest Sunnydaze pick $169 450 lb; hammock 125 × 60 in
Sunnydaze Quilted 2-Person Hammock and Blue Steel Stand A padded bed, pillow included $209 450 lb; 74 × 55 in bed
Sunnydaze Double Rope Hammock with Stand A classic flat rope bed $195 450 lb; 74 × 55 in bed
Best Choice Products Brazilian Double Hammock with Steel Stand The lowest price $89.99 (Ocean) 450 lb; 76 × 57 in bed

What the weight figure covers

A hammock and a stand each carry a figure, and the lower one is the one you are living with (our reading). Sunnydaze sells its Large 2-Person Soft-Spun rope hammock at 600 lbs and says it can hang from a 15-foot stand; its own Heavy-Duty Steel Hammock Stand prints 400 lb for the 15-foot version and 350 lb for the 12-foot. Heavy-duty is in that stand’s name either way, so read the number, not the name.

On a set, the page prints one figure. Sunnydaze gives 450 lbs for each of its three sets below, and Best Choice Products 450 lbs for its own. Hold your weight, plus anyone who shares the bed with you, against that figure and leave room above it: you sit on the edge to get in and out (our reading).

The five setups

Sunnydaze Universal Multi-Use Heavy-Duty Hammock Stand + Large 2-Person Soft-Spun Polyester Rope Hammock

$298 (stand $129 + hammock $169)Price for reference onlyStand 550 lb, 124 × 40 × 52.5 in, 33 lb · hammock 600 lb, 75 × 55 in bed, 124 in overall, 13 lbView it on the brand's site →

Sunnydaze does not sell these two together, and the hammock page points to a 15-foot stand; this stand lists 9.5- to 14-foot hammocks, spreader-bar styles included, and the hammock is 124 inches overall (about 10⅓ feet), so the pairing is our reading. Ask Sunnydaze to confirm before you order. If you are over 450 lb, this is the one pick here whose figures clear you. Sunnydaze prints 550 pounds for the stand, the highest stand figure among the five picks, on a 1.5-inch tubular powder-coated steel frame that snaps together without tools. Hang the Soft-Spun rope hammock from it, rated 600 lbs on its own, and, if Sunnydaze confirms the fit, the pair stops at 550 lb, the lower of the two (our reading). The hammock bed is 75 by 55 inches with wood spreader bars, and the rope is polyester.

Drawbacks: You buy two items and put them together yourself. The hammock page says it hangs from a 15-foot stand; this stand lists 9.5 to 14 foot hammocks, spreader-bar styles included, and the hammock is 124 inches overall, so the pairing is our reading: ask Sunnydaze before you order. The stand page also warns that an empty stand can tip in strong winds.

Sunnydaze Brazilian 2-Person Hammock with Universal Multi-Use Stand

$169Price for reference only450 lb · hammock 125 × 60 in · stand 124 × 40 × 52.5 in · set about 27 lbView it on the brand's site →

The pick if you want to be wrapped in. It is a gathered-end Brazilian hammock with no spreader bars, which Sunnydaze describes as one you cocoon into, 125 by 60 inches, the widest hammock of the four Sunnydaze picks, on a stand of the same 124 by 40 by 52.5 inch size as the universal stand above. Sunnydaze prints 450 lbs for the set, which weighs about 27 lb.

Drawbacks: The page prints two bed lengths in different spec blocks, 80 inches and 132 inches, so check the one for your color. At 450 lb it leaves less room than the stand-and-hammock pair above would, if Sunnydaze confirms that pair fits.

Sunnydaze Quilted 2-Person Hammock and Universal Blue Steel Stand, Catalina Beach

$209Price for reference only450 lb · 74 × 55 in bed · stand 124 × 40 × 52.5 in · set 35 lb, pillow includedView it on the brand's site →

The pick if you want a padded bed instead of rope. The hammock is quilted, 80% polyester and 20% cotton fiber with polyurethane foam fill and spreader bars, and the set includes a pillow. Sunnydaze says the universal stand fits hammocks from 9.5 to 14 feet long and prints a weight capacity of 450 lbs.

Drawbacks: One colorway only, and a blue frame. At 74 inches, its bed is shorter than the 75 to 76 inch beds of the Soft-Spun and Best Choice Products picks, the same 74 inches as the Double Rope set.

Sunnydaze Double Rope Hammock with Stand for Outside

$195Price for reference only450 lb · 74 × 55 in bed · stand 124 × 40 × 52.5 in, 25 lb · set 37 lbView it on the brand's site →

The pick for a classic flat rope bed. The 74 by 55 inch bed is woven from a cotton-polyester blend, and the page says the hardwood spreader bars make it easy to get in and out. Sunnydaze prints a weight capacity of 450 pounds, and on this page the stand takes hammocks from 9.5 to 15 feet long.

Drawbacks: It is cotton-rich rope, 65% cotton and 35% polyester, against the all-polyester rope of the first pick. The page gives the set as 124.5 inches long in its description and 134 inches in its details.

Best Choice Products 2-Person Brazilian-Style Double Hammock with Steel Stand

$89.99 (Ocean)Price for reference only450 lb · 76 × 57 in bed · overall 118.75 × 48 × 43 in · 30 lb · carrying bagView it on the brand's site →

The budget pick: the lowest price of the five, for the same 450 lb figure as the Sunnydaze sets. Best Choice Products prints a 450-pound weight capacity for up to two people on a 76 by 57 inch gathered-end bed and a tempered steel frame, 118.75 inches long, 48 wide and 43 high overall, and the hammock folds into the included carrying bag.

Drawbacks: The page does not list which hammock lengths the stand takes, so a replacement hammock is guesswork. Other colors list at $79.99 to $99.99 but showed out of stock on 22 October 2026.

How to choose

  • Weight first. Take your weight from a scale, add anyone who will share the bed, and compare the total to the lower of the hammock and stand figures. A 380 lb person has 70 lb of room on a 450 lb set and 170 lb on the 550 lb pair (our arithmetic), if Sunnydaze confirms that pair fits. Over 450 lb, none of the four sets clears you; only the first pick does, once Sunnydaze confirms the fit.
  • Then the bed. Lie on the floor with your arms at your sides and have someone measure across your elbows (our suggestion). The spreader-bar beds here are 55 inches wide; the Best Choice Products bed is 57 inches wide and the Sunnydaze Brazilian hammock 60 inches across, which is fabric width on a gathered-end hammock, not a flat bed.
  • Open or wrapped. On the Soft-Spun hammock, a retailer page says the spreader bars keep the bed open and easy to get into, and Sunnydaze says the Double Rope set’s hardwood spreader bars make it easy to get in and out; the Quilted bed has spreader bars too. Sunnydaze says you cocoon into its Brazilian hammock, and neither gathered-end page says anything about getting in or out. If getting out of a low, soft seat is hard for you, start with the spreader-bar picks (our suggestion).
  • Floor space. The Sunnydaze stands need 124 by 40 inches, about 10⅓ by 3⅓ feet (our arithmetic), before you add room to walk around. The Best Choice Products set is 118.75 by 48 inches overall, shorter but 8 inches wider (our arithmetic).

Before you order

  • Read the maker’s page, not only a store’s. For Sunnydaze’s soft-spun rope hammock with a 15-foot stand, the same set (same product code) is listed at 600 lb at Hammocks.com, while Sunnydaze’s own page says the included stand “supports up to 400 lbs”. We go by the 400, which is why that set is not among the picks.
  • A figure belongs to one size. Sunnydaze’s Heavy-Duty stand is 350 lb at 12 feet and 400 lb at 15 feet, so check the size you add to the cart.
  • Plan for wind. Sunnydaze’s universal stand page says an empty stand can tip in strong winds and suggests a sheltered spot, ground stakes (not included) or bringing it in.
  • Sleeping out instead? If the hammock is for camp nights rather than the backyard, our heavy duty camping cot guide uses the same rule on ratings. For a seat that swings on the porch, see the heavy duty patio swing with canopy guide, and more gear for bigger bodies is in sports gear.
  • Read the return terms before you pay; a hammock’s fit shows up once you are lying in it.

Where these numbers come from

Ratings, sizes, weights and prices are from the Sunnydaze Decor, Best Choice Products and Hammocks.com pages linked above, read on 22 October 2026. Remaining room, the $298 total, size differences and floor space in feet are our arithmetic.

Frequently asked questions

How much weight can a heavy duty hammock hold?

Go by the lower of two figures, the hammock's and the stand's (our reading). Of the five picks here, Sunnydaze prints 450 lb for each of its three hammock-and-stand sets and Best Choice Products prints 450 lb for its set. Bought separately, Sunnydaze's Universal Multi-Use stand prints 550 lb and its Large 2-Person Soft-Spun rope hammock 600 lb, so if Sunnydaze confirms the two fit together, that pair stops at 550 lb (our reading). Above 450 lb, none of the four sets clears you.

Is there a hammock with stand that holds 600 lbs?

Not among these five picks. The highest stand figure among them is 550 lb, on Sunnydaze's Universal Multi-Use Heavy-Duty Hammock Stand, and Sunnydaze sells its 600 lb Soft-Spun rope hammock without a stand. Hammocks.com lists Sunnydaze's soft-spun set with a 15-foot stand at 600 lb, but Sunnydaze's own page for that set says the stand supports up to 400 lbs.

Can two heavy people share a hammock on a stand?

Only if your combined weight stays under the figure, which is 450 lb on each of the four sets here, read as a total for everyone in it (our reading). Two adults at 225 lb each are already at it (our arithmetic). Two heavier adults may be better off with two setups (our reading).

What size hammock stand do I need?

One whose listed hammock lengths cover your hammock's overall length (our reading). Sunnydaze's universal stand page lists hammocks of 9.5 to 14 feet, and its three sets here come with a stand that measures 124 by 40 inches on the floor. The Best Choice Products set is 118.75 by 48 inches overall.
