Plus Size Maternity Dresses: 7 Picks That Go Past XL

Seven plus size maternity dresses sold in 1X to 3X and one in 4X, with what each brand's size chart asks you to measure and which ones open for nursing.

You find a maternity dress you like, open the size menu, and it ends at XL. Ordering the largest size anyway and hoping the stretch makes up the difference is a gamble if the chart’s largest bust measurement is smaller than yours. Below are seven maternity dresses, from three stores, whose size menus reach at least 3X, with what each brand’s chart asks you to measure and which ones the listing also sells for nursing.

How each brand sizes its maternity dresses

In the product feeds of two other maternity stores, the dress menus stop where plus sizes start. In Motherhood Maternity’s feed, 74 of its 81 dress listings stop at XL and the other 7 at XXL; at Ingrid & Isabel, 77 of 79 stop at XL and 2 at XXL. The three brands below go further.

PinkBlush prints a separate Maternity Plus chart for tops and dresses. On its size guide, 1X is a dress size 20 with a 47-inch bust and 51-inch hips, 2X is a 22 with 50 and 54, and 3X is a 24 with 53 and 57. The waist column reads “Waist will stretch to accommodate growing belly.”, and the guide says to measure hips “underneath your baby bump”. There is no bump measurement on the chart, so bust and hips are the two numbers to check.

Kindred Bravely tells you to start from your usual size. Its fit guide says: “If you’re shopping for clothes to wear in your last trimester, we occasionally recommend sizing up.” When a product’s chart does not recommend that, the guide says to order your normal size from the chart. The size-chart pop-up on its listings adds: “For the best fit at time of purchase, use your current measurements. If you are pregnant, disregard waist measurement and choose your size based on bust and hip measurements.”

Latched Mama has a separate chart for each product, and the charts for the four dresses below each pair a letter size with a numeric size and a chest range. Its sizing FAQ points you to those charts, and the note under the Classic Cotton chart reads “Use YOUR chest circumference to find the recommended size.” Two of those four charts print a 4X column for a dress whose listing sells only to 3X, so trust the size menu over the chart.

If you have not measured recently, the method is in how to measure your bust, waist and hips.

The seven

PinkBlush Black Floral Smocked Sweetheart Neckline Maternity Plus Midi Dress

$79 Price for reference only · 1X, 2X, 3X · View it on the brand’s site →

A black midi with a white floral print, a smocked bodice, a sweetheart neckline, short puff sleeves and a flowy skirt, in 100 percent polyester. The listing describes it as accommodating your growing belly, and it is sold only in 1X to 3X, so the Maternity Plus chart above applies directly. Pick it for a baby shower or a dinner out.

Drawbacks: 3X, a 53-inch bust on the chart, is the top size; and the product details say nothing about nursing access.

PinkBlush Black Leaf Textured Tiered Maternity Plus Midi Dress

$89 Price for reference only · 1X, 2X, 3X · View it on the brand’s site →

A tiered midi in a leaf-textured black fabric with puff sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and side pockets, in 100 percent polyester. The listing adds that it is “Double lined to prevent sheerness.”

Drawbacks: the same 3X ceiling and no nursing access in the product details.

Kindred Bravely Eleanora Bamboo Maternity & Nursing Dress

$17.98 Price for reference only · XS to 3X · View it on the brand’s site →

A T-shirt dress in 95 percent viscose from bamboo and 5 percent spandex, with a nursing panel and pockets. The listing says it is “Designed to wear before, during, and after your pregnancy” with a relaxed fit, and that it layers with jackets and sweaters, which makes it an everyday option.

Drawbacks: the product page labels it Final Sale, so read the store’s returns page before ordering, and it tops out at 3X.

Latched Mama Classic Cotton Nursing Dress

$65 Price for reference only · Extra Small to 3X · View it on the brand’s site →

A below-the-knee cotton dress (95 percent cotton, 5 percent spandex) with lift-up v-neck nursing access, elbow-length sleeves, side seam pockets and an elastic waist. The listing marks it “Maternity Friendly”. Its chart puts 3X (24-26) at a 51 to 54-inch chest, with 47 inches in the “Length” row; the other Latched Mama charts give 41.5 (“Dress Body Length”), 43.5 (“HPS to hem”) and 43 (“Body Length”) at 3X, so by our reading it is the longest of the four. Its listing names casual workdays first.

Drawbacks: on 28 September 2026 only three colours were showing as available in 1X to 3X (Stardust, Secret Garden and Saltwater Stripe, and 2X only in Stardust and Saltwater Stripe); the chart shows a 4X (28) column the listing does not sell; and the listing warns that its prints and solids “are limited edition and will not be restocked!”

Latched Mama Drawstring Tank Dress 2.0

$56 Price for reference only · Extra Small to 3X · View it on the brand’s site →

A tank-style dress in 95 percent viscose and 5 percent spandex, with a front drawstring that unties for one-hand nursing access, and pockets (unless a colour option says otherwise). The listing names pregnancy first in its “Perfect for” line. Its chart puts 3X (24/26) at a 51 to 55-inch chest with a 41.5-inch dress body length. At $56 it is the lowest of the four Latched Mama prices.

Drawbacks: tank style, so no sleeves; two colours (Lakeview Stripe and Black), and like the Classic Cotton its chart prints a 4X column the listing does not sell.

Latched Mama Breezy Cotton Nursing Dress

$58 Price for reference only · Extra Small to 3X · View it on the brand’s site →

A knee-length tank-style dress with a ribbed bodice (61 percent polyester, 33 percent rayon, 6 percent spandex), a 100 percent cotton gauze skirt, lift-up v-neck nursing access, a scoop neckline and pockets. The listing calls it “Pumping friendly, tandem nursing friendly, and maternity friendly.” Its chart puts 3X (24/26) at a 53 to 55-inch chest. On 28 September 2026, 1X and 3X were showing as available in Navy, Green and Black, and 2X in Green and Black.

Drawbacks: no sleeves, the size menu stops at 3X, and the listing says to “Expect minor shrinkage with the cotton gauze skirt”.

Latched Mama Labor Dress 2.0

$66 Price for reference only · Extra Extra Small to 5X on the menu; 5X not available when read · View it on the brand’s site →

The listing pitches it as an alternative to a hospital gown, with snaps at each shoulder for skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding, snaps down the back, a petal front opening, and a matching headband, and calls it “Maternity and postpartum friendly!” It is the only dress here whose menu goes past 3X: its chart puts 4X (28) at a 54 to 57-inch chest, and on 28 September 2026 the 4X was showing as available only in Candy Blossoms. Navy and Dusty Plum are 95 percent polyester and 5 percent spandex; the prints are a viscose and spandex blend.

Drawbacks: the 5X on its menu was not available when read, and the listing positions it for the birth and after, not for a shower or the office.

How to choose

  • Your bust or chest is over 53 inches: PinkBlush’s plus chart stops there at 3X. Latched Mama’s Drawstring Tank chart reaches 51 to 55 inches at 3X and the Breezy Cotton 53 to 55, both showing as available in 3X when read; the Labor Dress chart gives 54 to 57 at 4X, available only in Candy Blossoms on 28 September 2026.
  • You want to keep wearing it after the birth for nursing: any of the five Kindred Bravely and Latched Mama dresses; each listing describes how the nursing opening works. The product details on the two PinkBlush listings say nothing about nursing access.
  • You need something for an event: the two PinkBlush midis, with a smocked bodice or a tiered skirt and puff sleeves.
  • You want the lowest price: the Eleanora at $17.98, which is final sale; then the four Latched Mama dresses at $56 to $66.

Before you order

  • Measure now, not from memory. PinkBlush’s plus chart is in bust and hips and Latched Mama’s in chest circumference, so compare today’s numbers with the chart on each listing.
  • Read the chart on the listing, not the brand’s general one. Latched Mama prints a chart per product, and two of them list a size the product is not sold in.
  • Check the returns terms before you buy. The Eleanora’s product page marks it Final Sale. Read each store’s returns page before you order.

Brand-by-brand ranges beyond maternity are in plus size clothing, and the rest of the fit guides are in clothing and fit.

Where these numbers come from

Sizes, stock, prices, fabrics, lengths and quoted phrases are copied from each brand’s own product listing, size chart and fit guide, read on 28 September 2026, in US dollars; the prices of the two PinkBlush dresses and the Eleanora were read on 1 October 2026. The dress counts for Motherhood Maternity and Ingrid & Isabel are our own count of the dress listings in each store’s product feed that day.

Frequently asked questions

What size maternity dress should I order in plus sizes?

Use the chart on the listing and your own measurements. PinkBlush sizes its plus maternity dresses by bust and hips: 1X is a 47-inch bust and 51-inch hips, 2X is 50 and 54, 3X is 53 and 57, and its waist column says the waist will stretch for the bump. Latched Mama's charts go by your chest circumference. Kindred Bravely's charts say to use your current measurements and, if you are pregnant, to size by bust and hips and disregard the waist.

Which of these maternity dresses also work for nursing?

The five from Kindred Bravely and Latched Mama: each listing describes a nursing opening, such as a lift-up v-neck, a front drawstring, a nursing panel or shoulder snaps. The product details on the two PinkBlush listings say nothing about nursing access.

Is there a plus size maternity dress above 3X?

Of the seven here, only Latched Mama's Labor Dress 2.0. Its chart puts 4X (28) at a 54 to 57-inch chest, and on 28 September 2026 its 4X was showing as available only in the Candy Blossoms print; its menu also lists 5X, but 5X was not available. The listing pitches it as an alternative to a hospital gown for the birth. The other six stop at 3X.
