Plus Size Women's Golf Clothes: Polos, Skorts and a Dress
Six plus size women's golf clothes from three brands: polos, sleeveless tops, skorts and a dress, with the bust and hip each top size fits and a price for each.
Swing after swing, the polo creeps up over the waistband, and by the back nine you are tugging it down between shots. At Nancy Lopez, a plus top is not a regular top sized up: its size page lists its plus tops as 2 inches longer in the body and 2.5 inches longer in the sleeve (against its regular tops, our reading), and those regular tops stop at an X-Large for a 42.5 to 44.5 inch bust. So each of the six pieces below is sold past an XL, from three golf brands, with the size range it comes in, what its brand’s chart says the largest size fits, and a price for each.

What each brand’s top size covers
The same label does not mean the same body at these three brands. A 2X is a 50–52 inch hip on Nancy Lopez’s plus tops chart, 51–53 inches at Sofibella and 53.5 inches on Allie Burke’s bottoms and dresses chart. Nancy Lopez also uses two naming systems: its plus tops run 1X to 3X, while its skorts and dresses run Small to 3X-Large on a separate bottoms chart.

Nancy Lopez Legacy Short Sleeve Polo Plus
If you want one plain polo that goes to a 3X, start here: it is the only top of the six sized past 2X. It is a plus-only style, 1X to 3X, and on the brand’s plus tops chart that runs from a 44–46 inch bust and 46–48 inch hip in 1X to 52–54 and 54–56 in 3X. Nancy Lopez describes a 100% polyester micro flat knit pique with a self-fabric collar and a 4-button placket, its DeLux Dri moisture-wicking finish and UPF 50+ sun protection, in Cacti, Navy, Pistachio, White and Black.
Drawbacks: The page marks it final sale and points to its return policy; measure first. Priced in Canadian dollars.
Sofibella New Half Zip Sleeveless
For hot rounds when sleeves are too much. The half-zip sleeveless top is cut from Sofibella’s Sofi Performance Micro Pique, 91% polyester and 9% spandex, with a mandarin collar, a zip front and side slits that the brand says “provide ease of movement”. It lists UPF 50, wicking, quick drying, two-way stretch and pilling resistance, and it comes in 11 colours, every one with 1X and 2X on the size list. On Sofibella’s chart, the 1X is a 46–48 inch bust and the 2X 49–52.

Allie Burke Navy Heather Racerback Sleeveless Golf Polo
For a top that skims rather than grips at the stomach. Allie Burke says this style “has a scoop bottom that is looser around the stomach/hips”, and that it is “hitting at the hip with room to tuck or wear loose”. The product page gives 26 inches of length in a Medium, growing half an inch per size, which comes to about 28.5 inches in a 2X (our arithmetic). It lists a four-way stretch, moisture-wicking polo blend with UPF 40+ sun protection, a v-neck collar and a racerback, made in the USA. On the brand’s tops chart, the 2X is a 50 inch bust.
Drawbacks: One colour, navy heather, and it costs more than the Sofibella top, the other US-dollar top here. The scoop hem is a choice: if you want a straight hem, the brand points to its GP04 polo instead.
Skorts and a dress
Nancy Lopez Bloom Flip Skort
For hips up to 54 inches, the larger of the two skorts’ top sizes. The Bloom Flip Skort is a 17-inch pull-on skort in a printed polyester and spandex jersey, with lightweight knit undershorts, front tee pockets at the waist seam and back slit pockets. Its sizes run Small to 3X-Large, and on Nancy Lopez’s bottoms chart the XX-Large is a 50–52 inch hip and the 3X-Large 53–54. Nancy Lopez suggests pairing it with single-coloured tops.
Drawbacks: Final sale, as on the other two Nancy Lopez pages here. Two prints only, White Multi and Ice Multi, and no solid colour.
Sofibella New 17" Skort
For zip pockets and more stretch. Sofibella’s 17-inch skort has two front zipper pockets and a back slit pocket, built-in shorties and a curved hem with a slight flounce. The fabric is 78% polyester and 22% spandex, and the page lists four-way stretch, UPF 50+, moisture wicking, quick drying and pilling resistance. Each of the six prints lists XS to 2X. It pairs with the half-zip top above, from the same brand and chart.

Nancy Lopez Brilliant Dress
For one piece instead of a top and a skort. The Brilliant Dress is a printed polyester and spandex woven dress with jersey insets at the shoulder, back and sides, a mandarin collar with a zip placket, and side hand pockets. The page gives its length as 35 inches in a Medium. Its sizes run Small to 3X-Large, the same names as the brand’s bottoms chart, where the 3X-Large is a 53–54 inch hip (our reading of which chart applies).
Drawbacks: One print, Black Multi. Nancy Lopez's size page has no dress table, and the page marks the dress final sale.
How to choose
- Measure bust and hips first. Our guide on how to measure your bust, waist and hips covers the tape method; Nancy Lopez measures the hip 8 inches below the natural waist.
- Pick the bottom by your hip. Up to 53 inches, both skorts can work: Sofibella’s 2X runs to 53, Nancy Lopez’s 3X-Large to 54. Over 54 inches, none of the bottoms charts here goes that far; Nancy Lopez’s plus tops chart goes to a 56 inch hip, but it covers tops only.
- Pick the top by your bust. Over a 52 inch bust, the Nancy Lopez polo is the one top here charted that far (3X: 52–54). From 49 to 52, the Sofibella 2X covers it; Allie Burke charts its 2X at a single 50 inches.
- Pick the hem by where you want room. The Allie Burke polo is cut looser at the stomach and hips; the Sofibella top has side slits.

- Check the currency. Nancy Lopez’s store shows prices in Canadian dollars; the other two show US dollars.
- Read the return terms. The three Nancy Lopez pages here each say “This product is on final Sale”; check each brand’s return policy before ordering.
- Match the chart to the piece. Use the plus tops chart for the Nancy Lopez polo and the bottoms chart for its skort and dress; at Allie Burke, the tops chart has no hip row.
- Compare the lengths. Both skorts are 17 inches; the dress is 35 inches in a Medium, and the page does not give the 3X-Large length.

It depends on the brand. On Nancy Lopez's plus tops chart, a 3X is a 52–54 inch bust, a 44–46 inch waist and a 54–56 inch hip. Of the three brands here, Sofibella and Allie Burke stop at 2X: Sofibella's 2X is a 49–52 inch bust and 51–53 inch hips, and Allie Burke's is a 50 inch bust with a 53.5 inch hip on its dresses chart.
Do golf skorts come in plus sizes?
Yes. Of the two skorts here, Nancy Lopez's Bloom Flip Skort runs from Small to 3X-Large, and its bottoms chart puts the 3X-Large at a 53–54 inch hip. Sofibella's New 17" Skort runs from XS to 2X, and its chart puts the 2X at 51–53 inch hips. Both are 17 inches long, and both have built-in undershorts.

At Nancy Lopez they are: under "The plus size difference", its size page lists 2 inches more body length, 2.5 inches more sleeve and 1.75 inches more at the waist contour (against its regular tops, our reading). Allie Burke lists no plus-specific length; its sleeveless polo grades half an inch per size from 26 inches in a Medium, about 28.5 inches in a 2X (our arithmetic).
